Mancave Basement
A man cave with a curved soffit, layered lighting, and a secret bookshelf door.
This one started with a tennis table that needed a place to live and grew a little at every meeting. The ceiling makes the room: a curved radius soffit covers the mechanicals, and the same curve repeats in an accent wall of black painted wood plank. Layered lighting pulls it together into one cohesive, modern space.
No man cave is complete without a secret entry. A murphy bookshelf door, finished to match the existing bar in the basement, opens when you move a book on the shelf. Because one team designed and built it, the soffit, the lighting, and the hidden door were worked out together instead of bolted on at the end.
