Moroccan Kitchen
Hand painted cabinetry, Mexican floor tile with coyote trail markings, Moroccan tile on the island.
The materials carry the story here. The cabinetry is hand painted in a deep blue, and the floor tile came straight from Mexico with so much character that some pieces carry coyote trail markings.
Moroccan tile wraps the back of the island under exaggerated lighting, the two moves that tie the project together. A pale countertop lets the pattern and the pendants do the talking, and an arched opening leads through to the rest of the house. Tile from another country means long lead times, so design and construction planned the order together, early.
