Owl House
A stepped two-story custom home with an open kitchen around a deep blue island.
Owl House is a ground-up custom home in Bettendorf, quiet from the street and open inside. The street elevation is a stepped two-story composition in lap siding, with a band of high clerestory windows, a covered entry, and a garage held flush with the main volume.
Inside, the main level is one room around the kitchen. A long deep blue island sits against grey cabinetry and stainless appliances, pendants clustered above and light wood floors below. Design and build sat with one team, so the massing and the openings were priced and sequenced from the first sketch.
