Asymmetric Gable House
A two-story custom home whose asymmetric gable roofs give a simple plan its character.
The roof carries this house. Both the main volume and the garage wing wear a gable with a short pitch on one side and a long pitch on the other, so the two-story home reads as one shape from the street. Lap siding in a quiet grey green and a recessed entry keep the attention there.
The main level is open, kitchen flowing into living, with light wood cabinetry and a stainless steel countertop with an integral sink. A round basin on a simple wood vanity carries the same restraint into the bath, and the lower level holds a media room with a built-in entertainment wall and a study.
